Ulcerative colitis seeped into every aspect of her life. Strange diets. Social dilemmas.
But a nurse’s passing comment about aloe vera changed this Texas teacher’s life forever. For the first time in 20 years, Karen P. can eat Mexican food and not worry about flare-ups.
“I eat pretty much anything I want now, which is wonderful. I’ve gone from caveman diet to ‘I love Mexican food,’ and I eat it. I am happy. I can eat anything I want.”
Just seven years ago, Karen’s health hung in the balance while she kept up with her daughter’s golf tournaments, her son’s marching band activities and her full-time teaching job at the local elementary just south of Fort Worth.
“Stress played a big role. Everything that was stressful to me went to my gut. I was in a stress mode after school started. In October, I can almost guarantee you, I’d have a flare-up yearly.”
For years, she did what her doctors told her, which meant uncomfortable cortisone enemas. But the long-term effects worried her. She knew there had to be something less harmful.
“I started becoming more of an advocate for myself.”
She eliminated sugar from her diet. Then she tried aloe vera. Twenty years after hearing that life-changing diagnosis in the prime of her life, there’s no turning back. Karen is now looking forward to a healthy, happy retirement puttering round the golf course with her husband of 25 years.
“I’ve been on aloe for almost three years now and it works for me. My mom has diverticulitis and she’s taking it. I do believe in the product.”

When dental hygienist Melody D.’s hands became so achy and sore several years ago, getting through the workday was virtually impossible.
“I know I was developing arthritis. I didn’t have rheumatoid arthritis. It was I’m-getting-old arthritis.”
So the Lubbock, Texas, woman sought help from her doctor, who prescribed medicine to treat the symptoms. But Melody noticed those drugs contained methotrexate, which is used in chemotherapy. And it worried her.
Two years ago, she jumped at the chance to try something more natural. Since then, 2 tablespoons of aloe vera juice twice a day has done wonders.
“I have no problems with my hands anymore. It makes work a little easier.”
And when son Hunter was battling leukemia with methotrexate, he took aloe to help alleviate therapy-induced ulcers. He’s now healthy and in remission.
And Melody? She’s happily cleaning teeth and four-wheeling on vacations. So how does the aloe work? “I don’t really know and I don’t really care.”

Rich G. has fond memories of summers spent under the warm Texas sun. But years later, he has a sad reminder: skin damage.
“We never put sunscreen on. The best thing you could do was burn real good so then you could start tanning a little bit.”
At 60, Rich never lingers in the sun. He knows better now. Instead, the Fort Worth businessman has added aloe vera gel to his daily care regimen. He rubs his arms, cheeks, ears and back of the neck with aloe gel every day.
“It has a healing component to it. It does make a difference. I think it has slowed the inevitable damage of overexposure.”
Rich will continue using aloe while also having a dermatologist regularly monitor his fair skin.
“There’s really nothing that a dermatologist can do about your skin getting a little thinner. There’s nothing they can do other than making sure you don’t make it any worse.”
And that’s where the aloe comes in, which Rich finds “fascinating.”

I am a 55-year-old pharmacist who has been practicing pharmacy for the past 30 years. About 10 years ago, I developed Rosacea and began treating it with conventional medications, including steroids, oral and topical tetracycline, then metronidazole. Since I had access to practically any medication, I tried everything with an indication for Rosacea.
Most, if not all, of these medications had short- and long-term repercussions. I did not want to create a condition worse than the Rosacea. Success was limited at best because of my hobbies and habits: the wind and sun and many of the foods listed as triggers for the condition.
About three years ago, Dr. Danhof and I began discussing his ideas and products concerning aloe. I realized that an active form of aloe might help my condition since I believe that it is autoimmune. If I could block the body’s response to these stimuli, then I could possibly control the Rosacea better and longer. About one year ago, I began taking capsules of lyophilized and dehydrated aloe powder while also applying Dr. Danhof’s formula of aloe gel. The topical applications were the secret. The capsules helped control, but the gel gave overnight relief and results during intense outbreaks.
I am convinced that properly prepared aloe can control and, to a limited extent, stop the unsightly eruptions of Rosacea disorder. I am a believer and will continue to take aloe capsules or properly prepare juice and gel.

I wanted to let you know what great success I have had with your product.
About two years ago I started having severe stomach problems. I had nausea every day, all day, and on occasion would vomit. My stomach would rumble, grumble and hurt all day. About four months ago I ordered your product, and what a difference it has made. I take 2 teaspoons in the morning and 2 teaspoons at night. And, thanks to you, my stomach problems are gone. If I don't take your product every day, my stomach problems come back … so I know that your product is what is helping me.
It Also, my daughter just found out she has an ulcer so I have started her on your product.
I will continue to pay for your product because I know it works. Thank you and please keep up the good work.

Severe lower abdominal pain, chills and fever sent Julia M. of Fort Worth to the emergency room.
“The pain was so bad I could hardly walk.”
She was diagnosed with diverticulitis and sent home with antibiotics, which offered little relief.
A good friend suggested that she try ALOEMAXX’s Acid Away aloe vera drink and aloe vera capsules.
“I was skeptical, but desperate for relief. I started the very next day and could not believe the immediate soothing relief on my digestive system.”
Days later, she was nearly symptom-free. Within two months, her colon felt much better. And an unexpected side effect has made her even more of an aloe believer: better skin and hair.
Julia hasn’t felt this good in years; she truly believes that ALOEMAXX products are life changing. She can even eat and drink whatever she wants without worrying about another bout with diverticulitis.
“I recommend anyone suffering with digestive disorders to give it a try. ALOEMAXX will be a part of my daily diet … always.”

Dear Mark,
"I am really pleased with the results! My skin looks and feels so much better. The texture is improved, my pores have tightened and the redness has diminshed significantly. I had a flare up during days 11-17, but it was far less intense than what I'm used to. I even had one day when I felt my skin looked completely normal. I haven't had any itchiness at all. Overall, my skin has not looked this good in YEARS. This weekend I plan to take my "after" photo and I will send you both "before" and "after".
Thank you, Mark, for the opportunity to participate in the Aloemaxx study. I'm very happy to have found a natural product that really does help my skin."

I recently completed the Aloemaxx Sutdy and wondered if anyone else had results with them. My results were not stunning but good. I loved the rosacea gel and still use it daily. The aloe pills were easy to use and seemed to be mostly aloe powder and nothing else. We didn't get an ingredient list but it seemed purer than other products I have used.
Before, using Aloemaxx, I used an organic aloe gel that I got from health food store. If I used too much it would sting my face but this stuff never did! The gel definitedly helped keep my pustules down and minimized redness after working out. I really didn't notice any change in redness on a daily basis but when I took my after photo, I could see a difference. Redness is my primary problem. I'll post my before and after photos in the photo section. They are a little scary as I took face shots in the sun... but they give a good view of my rosacea.
Let me know if any of you have tried the products and what you think. I've spoken with the owner and he is really great to talk to. I am sure if anyone that has questions about his products he'd love to speak with you. The website for Aloemaxx is http://www.aloemaxx.com. I highly recommend their Rosa Gel and will keep using it in my daily routine. The Aloe Capsules seem to work great but I am not sure if i will continue to use them. They are expensive and since they didn't remove the redness, I am leary to at it. If anyone cured their redness with Aloemaxx, I'd be very excited to hear about it.
I'd also love to hear if anyone has used any other natural methods to get rid of chronic redness. I've had mine for over three years now and not much has helped to change it.
Thanks, Candi
